The Bargara Progress Association has been active in the community since 1999. Its projects have seen the construction of exercise equipment at Schuhkraft Park, the fireworks at New Year’s Eve as well as supporting the Bargara ANZAC DAY Dawn Service and our latest contribution has been to support the Bargara Mosaic Art Trail.
We love our little seaside township and with the help of the community and your ability to have your say and bring forward ideas, concerns and awareness, Bargara can continue to be the charming community that it is.
Bargara Progress Association (Inc) has a history dating back to 1922, if not earlier. It is known as an advocate for Bargara residents on a wide range of community issues that require consideration in a fast growing community. The BPA has successfully lobbied all levels of Government on issues of community interest and plays a major part in identifying and progressing community needs.
Recently the BPA has allocated funding and community support for the MilBi Magic Mosaics at Archie’s Beach, have funded accessories needed for the Bargara Police Can-Am ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), and continue to promote Bargara through local guest speakers and shirts identifying Bargara as ‘The Lifestyle Capital’. We ran the New Years Fireworks for 12 years until end of 2018.
Presently, the BPA is supporting and advocating for the Moneys Creek redevelopment proposal. Further information on this local issue can be found on our website.
The BPA holds meetings on the first Wednesday of each month at 7pm currently at Bargara beach Tavern. These meetings provide an important community forum and opportunity to discuss issues affecting the local community.
Other information regarding the BPA can be found on our Facebook page.
